Get the lights and sound working on your Bruder Scania Super 560R Liebherr crane truck. Step-by-step diagnosis for battery, switch, and module issues.
Quick answer
If the lights and sound on your Bruder Scania Liebherr crane truck aren't working, start by checking the battery compartment and the module switch. Follow the diagnosis steps below to isolate the issue.
Why the light and sound module may not activate
The Bruder Scania Super 560R includes a light and sound module that adds realism to play. However, it's not uncommon for the module to seem unresponsive out of the box or after storage. The most common causes are a disconnected battery, the module switch being in the off position, or the battery tab not making contact.
The module is powered separately from the truck's movement, so even if the crane rolls and extends, the lights and sound can be dead. This is a design choice that keeps the two systems independent, but it also means you need to check two power paths.
Diagnosis steps for light and sound module
- Symptom: Lights and sound do not turn on when pressing the button on the module.
- Likely cause: The module's battery is not installed, is dead, or the battery tab is not making contact. The module switch may be in the 'OFF' position.
- Corrective action: Open the battery compartment on the module (usually underneath the cab). Install a fresh 9V battery (not included) ensuring the connector snaps firmly. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position. Press the button to test. If still no response, try a different 9V battery or check that the battery connector wires are not damaged.
- Stop or choose another option: If the module still does not work after a fresh battery and the switch is confirmed ON, the module itself may be defective. Contact Bruder support or consider replacing the module (sold separately). Do not attempt to open the module casing, as this may void any warranty.
